The Library was formed from the previously separate Libraries of the Colleges that make up the Partnership for Theological Education.
The library underwent a major redevelopment and refurbishment in 2007.  It is a modern resource centre containing around 30,000 books and almost 200 journal titles on all areas of Christianity, theology and religious studies, and other related subjects.
 
We offer:

·        One-to-one and group computer training sessions for students of LKH
·        Access to an online catalogue
·        Access to online databases and electronic books to help with research and study
·        Strong links with other theological libraries, as well as with the University libraries of Manchester, Chester and Liverpool Hope
·        An inter library loan service
·        A postal loan service for members who do not live close to the library
·        Reasonable rates for external membership
·        Access to Manchester University Library for students on the LKH study programme
·        Study skills support, including one-to-one and group tutorials for students of LKH
·        Guided reading programmes (by arrangement)
 
Areas of the Library that may be of special interest include:
 
·        The Safe Store: containing older and more valuable material
·        Community Studies Section: catering specifically for the needs of Church Related Community Workers
·        Reserve Collection: containing reference copies of all key texts, thus ensuring that these resources are always available
·        Unitarian Collection: containing useful resources on Unitarianism
·        Video and DVD Collection: around 100 videos and DVDs, all of which are available for loan
·        Books for sale: a selection of reasonably-priced second hand books for sale
 
Photocopying facilities are available in the Library (when staffed) and also at the main Reception.  Copies are charged at 5p per sheet.
