Luther King House Open College

Luther King House Open College was established to provide a college base for those independent students studying at Luther King House or with the South North West Regional Training Partnership.  From September 2005, students have had the opportunity to work with Dr David Goodbourn, who has significant ecumenical educational experience.

Currently members of the college are drawn from Anglican, Catholic and Black Majority Church backgrounds, amongst others.

Luther King House Open College is for people who want to study practical theology without being en route to a recognised ministry in the Church.  They may be exploring their Christian vocation, developing their Christian discipleship or simply thinking through their faith.

We are an open college.

Our undergraduate programmes do not have formal entry requirements; those applying need only to show us that they could benefit from taking the course.

Partnerships

We don't work alone.  We work through two partnerships.

Postgraduates and full-time undergraduates study within the partnership for theological education at Luther King House - the base in Manchester we share with four other theological colleges. Courses offered are degrees and diplomas validated by Manchester University.

Part-time undergraduate study is through the Southern North West Training Partnership, a free church and Anglican consortium offering a Foundation Degree validated by Chester and Liverpool Hope universities.

Through these partnerships our students have access to a wide pool of academic staff.
